All about Bali Catamarans brand
Olivier Poncin founded the Poncin Yachts shipyard in Canet-en-Roussillon, France, in 2001. It became Catana in 2015, coinciding with the company's 25th anniversary. Catana now builds a range of large, luxurious carbon cruising catamarans under the Catana brand, alongside a consistent, mass-produced range of catamarans ranging from 40 foot to 52 foot under the Bali Catamarans brand, complete with a combined saloon and cockpit and a highly liveable flying bridge with large sun deck.
Aimed at individuals and charter companies alike, Bali Catamarans has experienced dazzling success and now represents 10% of the world's sales of new catamarans. Boats are manufactured in France at sites in Canet-du-Roussillon and Marans, Vendée and in Tunisia, at a site near to the popular Cape Bon peninsula which borders the Strait of Sicily.
Over 150 Bali catamarans leave Catana's production sites each year and are now split over two ranges: sailing catamarans and new power catamarans.
Bali catamarans are focused on liveability and feature a closed forward cockpit, no trampoline, with saloon and sunbathing area and a continuous platform between the aft floats. These catamarans are fully equipped and offer highly spacious living areas; the Bali 54 boasts living space of almost 130m2!
They are bona fide Open boats, equipped with tilting doors and electrically operated tilt-and-turn windows between the saloon and the forward and aft cockpits, which are completely open. These catamarans are among the most liveable on the market, but are also known for their rigorous and high-quality construction resulting from the shipyard's experience in building large boats in limited series.
