All about BAVARIA SPORT range
When the German shipyard Bavaria Yacht turned to the production of motorboats in the mid-2000s, it did so because it wanted to appeal to the export market. The amount of engineering and know-how, the assembly and material quality and the overall efficiency - surely we've all come to associate these characteristics with German-made products?
The brand entered the motor market under the name Bavaria Sport, which referred to inboard cruisers with fittings inherited from sailing boats, their famous Bavaria Cruisers.
This is how the Bavaria 28', 30', 34' and 40' came to be. Now called "S-Line", the Bavaria Sport is available at lengths of 29 to 45', and as open, coupé and convertible top versions.
Characterised by an interior and exterior finish that is above market standards, especially when it comes to fit tolerances and interior joinery, Bavaria Sport boats benefit from Bavaria Yachts' long tradition of using their own woodworkers. As with their yachts, the shipyard does not subcontract the fittings to anybody external.
The Bavaria Sport range consists of appealing open day cruisers, like the Bavaria Sport 28' and the recent Bavaria Sport 29', a boat that's just as comfortable on a weekend cruise as it is on day trips (1 cabin and 1 bathroom), and running hot water thanks to the inboard engine, a Mercruiser 350 HP Z-drive.
But at the opposite end of the scale from this Bavaria Sport range, there are also elegant yachts equipped with 3 cabins and 3 bathrooms like the very popular Bavaria S-Line 45 with its Volvo D6 (740 HP) engine that can really pick up the pace and cross from one Mediterranean country to another in the space of a night under its own steam. Bavaria, a passion for boats!
BAVARIA SPORT: find your future boats
The range of boats centralizes models with similar characteristics, both in their design and in their use. A boat builder can have a range dedicated to racing-cruising yachts and another specializing in small outboard motor boats. The ranges of boats may need to evolve to better meet the expectations of boaters. Thus, certain ranges are disappearing to make way for new generations of boats.
Choosing your boat model from the range
Buying a new or used boat requires taking stock of your expectations as a future boat owner Here are the main questions to ask:
- What is my maximum budget for buying a boat?
- Do I have a berth available?
