The Antares were originally designed for fishing, possibly for cruising, activities for which the quality of their construction and their hardiness were just what was required. It was not until the fourth generation of Antares that the Bénéteau shipyard designed a true cruiser based on a 6.42-m hull with inboard engines. It completed a range that includes the 'Fishing' version.
This lovely gull-wing hull takes full advantage of a 110 hp inboard engine and is as fast as it is lively. Compared to previous-generation Antares, the design is more rounded and the cockpit more inviting. It's available in a variety of configurations that enables it to be used for a small table with seats on either side or converted into a deck saloon or a sunbathing area.
The layout is what you would expect on a hull of this size, with a small galley and a V-shaped bench seat that converts into a dinette or a double bed. It's simple, but sufficient, especially as there's plenty of storage space, both in the galley and on either side of the bench.
