All about Antares 650 model
A version of the 6-7 m Antares that has been designed more for fishing than leisure cruising, the Beneteau Antares 650s from 1980 and 2000 are a popular choice for sports fishermen and other frequent boaters.
People who are setting out for fishing rarely leave at maximum capacity and have no use for bulky benches and seats that clutter up the space in the aft cockpit where all the action takes place.

The 1980 Beneteau Antares 650 was launched with an 80 HP naturally aspirated Perkins diesel engine. It's a foolproof motor that many Antares 650s from the era are still equipped with.
The second version, which was restyled during the 2000s but is still distinctly fishing oriented, has gone outboard with 115 HP.
As far as the fittings are concerned, you get the same on both boats, with a wheelhouse housing the saloon and helm and a cabin where the most recent version is able to accommodate a chemical toilet. The sink is mounted in the cabin in the earlier version and in the cockpit for the more recent model.
On the forward side, there's a bump in the deck due to the living space below so you can't set up any sun loungers. On the other hand, the cabins in both models have a sea view and optimal natural lighting.
There's plenty of space in the cockpit at the stern, which is nice and uncluttered for fishing purposes.
Both models can be transported by road with unladen weights of less than 1,500 kg.
