All about Antares 7 model
With its 7 m length, comfort and habitability, the Antares 7 from the Vendée-based Bénéteau shipyards (world leader in the construction of pleasure boats) is a smart choice. It's actually smart to the point that 3 different models have succeeded each other since 1996 (2001 and 2016). Currently, there is the Beneteau Antares 7 OB (outboard) or the Antares 7 IB (inboard).
7 m long by 2.50 to 2.70 m wide equates to the perfect dimensions for a cabin cruiser that can accommodate a couple on their own or with children on long weekends. A forward cabin, a kitchen, a convertible saloon and a shower room offer all the space and comfort necessary for coastal camping. In terms of width, the latest version (from 2016) sees an overall width reduced to 2.50 m, making this live-aboard cruiser more transportable again (as that had begun to get a bit lost), without reducing the useable interior space, as the freeboards have been considerably slimmed down over time.
On the engine front, the 125 HP diesel on a shaft line from 1996 was increased to 150 HP diesel in 2001 and finally 175 HP outboard on the latest version. Maximum speeds range from 21 to 33 knots on the outboard version. Speed or range, the choice is yours.
In terms of accommodation, there is always a cabin downstairs with a shower room and chemical or marine toilet, and a saloon (that converts into a berth), with a kitchen in the wheelhouse.
Outside, there's a large sundeck at the bow and a cockpit saloon at the stern.
