All about Antares Serie 9 Fly version
Intended for short family cruises, the Antarès are one of several motorboat ranges produced by the Beneteau shipyard. The range has come such a long way when you compare the first Antarès launched in 1970 with the mighty Beneteau Antarès 9 Fly!
Launched in 2000, the Antarès 9 fly still belongs to the "inboard" generation of this range of powerboats. This is because these boats were designed for cruising rather than speed, and while their diesel engines are more costly to maintain, they have a significantly longer lifespan. The 320hp Nanni engines fitted are capable of exceeding tens of thousands of hours when well maintained. Can the same be said of the later outboard versions? Often fitted with a bow thruster (optional), this piece of equipment is particularly helpful on a shaft line which reverses poorly on one side.
Equipped with two deep side decks leading to the forward deck perfect for sunbathing, the Antarès also has solid handrails and safe, high freeboards. It ticks all the boxes for a boat designed to accommodate children!
A wide aft swimming platform hits the mark, while a ladder takes you to the flying bridge; the perfect steering station for two people. It has the airs of an American sport fishing boat with the clever addition of rod holders and an awning.
Inside the cockpit you'll find a starboard galley positioned behind the steering station, and a U-shaped saloon on the other side.
The forward cabin is equipped with a port-side double bed and a separate bathroom with WC and sink.
