All about First 27.7 model
First 27.7: a cruise-racing boat
First released by the Beneteau shipyard in the early 2000s, the First 27.7 is equipped with a lifting keel. It is part of the First range, the cruiser-racing range by Bénéteau. It is ideal for coastal outings, a weekend cruise with family or in regatta.
The exterior features a saloon with two benches. The helm is straightforward, with 2 elevated helm positions for better visibility. The range is on each side of the entrance to the saloon. The gangways and high rails allow you to easily sit out when heeling. There is water access via a retractable starboard-aft ladder.
Inside port side there is access to a small galley facing the chart table. The saloon comprises 2 berths with a folding shelf. The fore cabin is double with some storage. An aft cabin is also available on the port side. There are two portholes on the sides to allow light to enter and a porthole on the deckhouse.
In terms of performance, the boat is very light, leans quickly but is stable downwind. The tiller keeps it on course better. Its sail area of nearly 48.8m2 and 92m2 downwind allows a cruising speed of 6 knots. The boat can accommodate 5 people.
