Océanis 40.1: modern lines!
Designed by Marc Lombard, the Océanis 40.1's hull is appealing in more ways than one! Typical of modern boats, it is low in the water, slim in the bow and wide in the stern. But with its bilge running from the bow and forming a step that improves lift and heel, this hull is ahead of its time. These strong lines, combined with the tapered plating, give this Océanis a personality all of its own, and one that is utterly endearing!
The Océanis 40.1 is slender, an impression accentuated by the bowsprit and the large hull portholes. The performance under sail is excellent, especially with the First line version, whose mast and keel are extended. The standard version has more ballast, a furling mast and a self-tacking jib.
Following the trend of many boatyards, the Océanis 40.1 is as enjoyable in port as it is easy and pleasant to sail. The living and circulation areas, designed by Nauta Design, are very ergonomic.
Better yet, they seem designed to make life on board as comfortable as possible. The cockpit is vast and its hatch opens to form a large bathing platform, a feature that is no longer reserved for motorboats only.
The interior is as bright as possible, thanks to the zenithal panels, but also, and above all, to the hull portholes. The one in the galley illuminates an advanced layout against the forward bulkhead, which is becoming common and is a definite plus, particularly when moored up.
