Founded in 1945, the Cantieri di Pisa began building civil and military ships. Pisa's shipyards are renowned, almost as much as the leaning tower itself! Pisa is a river city lapped by the Arno River and by the Navicelli Canal, which links the seaport of Livorno to the Mediterranean Sea. Alongside the construction of ships, attractive sailboats were released up until the 1950s, such as the Tyrsa and the Kerilos, an elegant 30-metre ketch.
Cantieri di Pisa: star of the seas!
In 1960, the pleasure boating era really took off for the shipyard, which built motor yachts named after stars and planets. In the decades that followed, the Akhir series played a significant part in boosting the popularity of Cantieri di Pisa. Available in sizes ranging from 26m to 47m, these elegantly Italian yachts are renowned for their quality workmanship, luxurious fittings and ease of use. Over the years, no less than 600 yachts have slipped over the shipyard's launching pads and into Mediterranean waters, where their starry names continue to shine.
The shipyard joined a group of investors in late 2018 who help keep its traditions alive while looking to the future. A large part of the business is now focused on service, particularly maintenance, renovation and refitting of the existing fleet of boats. A mission driven by the shipyard's know-how!
