All about Cobalt Marine brand
Americans don't do anything like everybody else! Europeans often see them as big kids, and indeed, many vehicles and leisure items from across the Pond do focus on this fun aspect. This choice, made from the design stage onwards, to provide as much pleasure as possible, in no way detracts from the quality and thoroughness of their manufacture, but gives a special American touch to these machines, especially when tradition is added to the mix!
Cobalt Boats have been producing boats for more than 50 years. The shipyard was founded in 1968 in Neodesha, Kansas, when Pack St Clair began building speedy sport and leisure boats. These boats, in stern-drive or outboard versions, have quickly gained a reputation for solidity and quality. In fact, the company's credo has always been to favour quality over price. It's a principle that remains active, despite the yard's acquisition in 2017 by Malibu Boats. Cobalt Boats are fun boats!
Hulls produced before the turn of the century are often trimaran in profile. With Volvo or Mercury motors, they're fitted out with great attention to detail and the yard has often broken new ground, for example by offering a retractable and sunken bath step.
The brand has two ranges, inboard and outboard, as well as another one dedicated to surfing. A system of ballast and mobile flaps enables the generation of passable waves.
