All about Comet range
The Comet range, launched by Comar in 1970, really took off after Comet 910 triumphed in the Middle Sea Race in 1971. The range of pleasure craft is ideal for cruising the coast or mid-shore with family and friends.
There are now 10 models in the range, with two versions - Sport and Raised Saloon. Some, like Comet 52, are very comfortable and luxurious while others are extremely sporty, like Comet 45 Sport. The Italian boatyard has made over 5,000 boats since it was founded.
The Comet 910 remains the best-known cabin cruiser in the range. This fixed keel, sloop-rigged sailboat was produced by the naval architects at Groupe Finot and measures 9.1 metres long with maximum draft of 1.7 metres. It was produced for 20 years, from 1971 to 1991 with a total 491 boats put on the market.

Comet: the fast cruiser range
The range of boats centralizes models with similar characteristics, both in their design and in their use. A boat builder can have a range dedicated to racing-cruising yachts and another specializing in small outboard motor boats. The ranges of boats may need to evolve to better meet the expectations of boaters. Thus, certain ranges are disappearing to make way for new generations of boats.
Choosing your boat model from the range
Buying a new or used boat requires taking stock of your expectations as a future boat owner Here are the main questions to ask:
- What is my maximum budget for buying a boat?
- Do I have a berth available?
- What is my boater profile?
