CSL stands for "Cranchi Sport Line". This acronym represents sleek day cruisers that combine elegance, performance and functionality. The 2005 Cranchi CSL 27s had not yet given in to the trend for outboards, in which unattractive engine blocks are planted onto slender sterns... Aft platforms designed for relaxation can only be found on 7m day boats. You can lounge around on inboard day boats when travelling at reduced speeds. But on the other hand, who would want to relax between two roaring outboards? All in the name of progress!
Fortunately, the Cranchi CSL 27 escaped this fate. This boat's intentions are very simple. It is not a "Swiss army knife", equipped for fishing, waterskiing or cruising. No, it's a boat designed by Italians for a very popular activity on the Riviera: lazing around. Lazing around, yes; but with style and mastery! Equipped with powerful engines, whether petrol (225hp to 320hp) or diesel (190hp to 260hp), the boat reaches 36 knots which suits its sporty style well. The cockpit is positioned around the central steering station and the cabin is accessed port side. The layout results in a large pilot seat, complemented by a co-pilot seat. The forward deck is accessed by opening the pilot's starboard windscreen, much like on a bowrider. The summer kitchen is also located starboard. The cabin has a pointed bed and includes a marine toilet cleverly hidden by a cabinet.
