At 37-foot-long, the Cranchi Smeraldo (smeraldo means "emerald" in Italian), is a sleek sport cruiser which enjoyed sustained success due to its remarkably balanced characteristics.
It is tricky to find space for a well-sized master cabin on smaller speedboats. Island beds with comfortable headroom are preferred by owners, who often sail without guests.
As such, the most recent versions of the Smeraldo have two separate well-sized cabins, while older versions are equipped with a forward Breton bed.
In any case, a bathroom with shower and hot water (provided by the inboard engine), a fully-equipped kitchen (with optional ceramic glass) and a comfortable interior saloon ensure comfort on board in any season. In the colder months you may prefer to sip your morning coffee under cover!
From a technical point of view, these speedboats always come equipped with a twin diesel engine, in this case a Volvo KAD 2x300hp with a max. speed of 34 knots and 90 l/h at 20 knots.
The engines are fitted at the rear thanks to their bases and are relatively quiet, much less so than their outboard equivalents. Thrusters, air conditioners and generators are usually fitted too.
The shipyard offered an optional hard top which, while it made the line of this boat a little heavier, provided shade to the entire aft when coupled with a bimini.
The exterior swim platform can be used to store a tender, as you would expect on a sport line.
Interior space in the cockpit is divided in two, with an aft summer kitchen and saloon and a forward cockpit. The forward deck is very wide and can accommodate 4 to 6 sunbathers. The aft deck is ideal for lovers of shade.
