All about Estensi brand
Cantieri Estensi was founded in 1995, in Ferrara, a historic city whose medieval centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Although it seems a long way from the Adriatic Sea, Ferrara is a river city. It's situated in the Po delta, and a branch channel of the river, known as Pô de Volano, runs through it. Intensi: America, Italian style!
The first boat, a motorboat, was built in 80 units, but it was the Goldstar series and its variations that made the shipyard famous from the 2000s onwards. The range is strongly inspired by the lobster boats from the Maine region in the northeastern United States. Unashamedly American in style but adapted to the Mediterranean and enlivened with a Latin temperament. The line has been simplified and streamlined, giving these boats with their multiple influences a unique, timeless identity that has remained unchanged over the 500 or so units produced.
Cantieri Estensi has 14 models, all more or less freely inspired by Maine fishing boats. The Maine 645, the brand's flagship, is aimed at those who want to live on board all year round. The Goldstar models range from 11m (36ft) for the 360 to 16.8m (55ft) for the 545 S. In all sizes, their taut lines conceal great liveaboardability. While new partnerships have driven the yard to move to new, more functional premises, the credo remains the same: to preserve the attributes of an Italian-style boatbuilding tradition.
