All about Fiart Mare brand
Some marques create a sense of belonging to the spirit of a particular time and era. Such a strong, close link exists between the marque, its product and the period in question that they become united and inseparable, forever!
In the world of water sports – that's sports in the sense of a popular leisure activity – Fiart Mare is one such boat builder, evoking the entire history of the baby boom and the social advances made in post-war Italy through the models it produces.
In 1960, Fiart (which stands for "Fabbriche Italiane per l'Applicazione di Resine Termoindurente") introduced the Conchita, a small 3.6 metre (11 ft 10 in) boat designed for fishing and everyday use. Life in Italy was taking a more leisurely turn by 1960. A combination of decent employment, holidays and simple joie de vivre led a portion of the country's population to turn to sailing as a leisure activity. The small 4.6 metre (15 ft) Sagittario day cruiser of the 1970s took on almost iconic status during these dolce vita years.
What subsequently followed is a story of boat builders experiencing the boom of pleasure sailing, with boats constantly becoming ever longer and more powerful. Fiart has produced a large number of motorboats in sizes ranging from 30 to 62 feet since the start of the year 2000, all of them very well-finished seagoing models.
As a long-term partner of engine manufacturer Volvo Penta, Fiart wasted no time in installing the company's well-known IPS drive system as soon as it could, a system that will hugely advance the manoeuvrability of its boats, the largest of which approach 20 metric tons in weight. Particularly notable are the Fiart 33 Seawalker, an elegant walkaround offering far more than first meets the eye, and the Fiart 47, with its mini-superyacht looks.
