After years of designing boats for the biggest Italian shipyards, Michele Carnevale, a renowned designer, wanted the best tools at his disposal to bring his most beautiful nautical ideas to life. He set up Innovazione e Progetti, a business capable of building boats that meet the desires of Italian pleasure boaters, as well as those who sail in more exotic waters.
Innovazione e Progetti: the boldness of ambitious projects!
In doing so, he crossed the Rubicon, and that's not just an expression! He set up his premises in Savignano sul Rubicone, close to Italy's Adriatic coast, where a Roman bridge connects the two banks of this small river. In 1994, the company underwent dazzling development! In 1998, the Innovazione e Progetti shipyard was producing 11 models in sizes ranging from 11m to 22m. Ambition was strong and the shipyard marketed its boats under 2 distinct brands: Alena and Mira. New models were presented at each edition of the Genoa Boat Show.
Innovazione e Progetti built a 9,000sq.m. workshop designed to enable both better quality management and control of production costs, equipping itself with the means that its projects required. However, ambition proved excessive this time and the company filed for bankruptcy in November 2014.
There are still many boats resulting from this adventure featuring the "paw" of their designer, much to the delight of second-hand markets, such as the Mira 37, the Alena 48 and even the 256 Flares.
