Ever present in the highly competitive 6m (20ft) central-console market since the 1990s, Jeanneau's Cap Camarat have become benchmarks in their class. In its seventh-generation incarnation, Jeanneau's Cap Camarat 6.5 CC series III has both a new design and an appealing set of new features. This transportable boat's substantial size, together with its ability to offer a high degree of comfort, make it the ideal choice for day trips with friends or family.
Equipped with a fairly deep tapered hull, a little wider and longer than that of its predecessor, and with a single step, twin strakes and a pronounced sheer, the 2019 Cap Camarat 6.5 CC is evolving towards a sportier style. The central console, well protected by its windscreen, is the first in this range designed to be fitted with an optional aluminium T-top. Both an L-shaped and a U-shaped rear-cockpit saloon configuration are available (with an optional fold-away side bench seat), and there is also a front-saloon option. Finally, the 6.5 CC can also optionally be fitted with two swim platforms, one on either side of the motor, which give the boat a longer profile.
Designed for engines up to 200hp, the boat easily exceeds 40 knots with this engine.
Opting for a U-shaped bench seat arrangement makes it possible to seat eight people around the onboard table – one more than on the previous version. At the bow end, the sun deck can be converted into a saloon (with the addition of an optional fold-away table), which clearly demonstrates how versatile this boat is. The cabin serves more as a storage area than a real sleeping area: space is needed to store the cushions of the foredeck and its cockpit as well as those of the aft cockpit!
