All about V Class range
British shipyard Princess reigns supreme over the world's leading boating and yachting companies. Founded in 1965 in Plymouth - the port from which privateer Francis Drake terrorised the Spanish and French - Princess now carries out its operations in over 100,000m2 of covered space and employs an impressive 3,000 people worldwide.
The shipyard has been owned by Frenchman Bernard Arnault since 2008, adding this producer of majestic boats to his extensive portfolio of luxury businesses.
The V-Class range by Princess groups together the brand's dynamic Express Cruisers.
An Express Cruiser is an offshore cruiser equipped with a powerful engine enabling it to reach high speeds. They may also be referred to as Sports Cruisers. These sleek yachts aren't weighed down by a flybridge. Lying lower on the water, the cockpit features a hardtop which provides shade to part of the cockpit. The boat as a whole has a sleek body and a dynamic, sporty look that has contributed to its success.
Launched in 1994, the V-Class was an instant success, as was the Princess V39. This 12m Sports Cruiser is fitted out around two cabins and has a breathtaking profile. Exquisite comfort and a winning finish are accompanied by two 330hp diesel engines delivering a top speed of 37 knots. Princess V-Class yachts were gradually built in lengths ranging from 38 foot to 75 foot.
The current range includes six models ranging in length from 40 foot to 78 foot.
V Class: find your future boats
The range of boats centralizes models with similar characteristics, both in their design and in their use. A boat builder can have a range dedicated to racing-cruising yachts and another specializing in small outboard motor boats. The ranges of boats may need to evolve to better meet the expectations of boaters. Thus, certain ranges are disappearing to make way for new generations of boats.
Choosing your boat model from the range
Buying a new or used boat requires taking stock of your expectations as a future boat owner Here are the main questions to ask:
- What is my maximum budget for buying a boat?
- Do I have a berth available?
- What is my boater profile?
