All about Siltala Yachts brand
Established in 1966 in Riihikoski, in the south of Finland, Siltala yachts is known for building iconic boats such as the Nauticat. Under the name Nauticat Oy, the yard continued its activities until its liquidation in June 2018. However, in its time, the shipyard built many gorgeous boats ranging from 10 to nearly 16 metres.
Thus the famous Nauticat boats built by Siltala yachts are synonymous with quality!
The range included ocean-going sailing yachts and motor yachts, but there was also a strong emphasis on "fiftys". These multipurpose boats with their half sail/half engine propulsion were very fashionable at the time. They were comfortable, stable, and spacious... or in other words, reassuring! However, it is difficult to reconcile the two different systems of sailing or motorboating without losing too much identity or performance. Many shipyards have been led astray in what turned out to be unsuccessful attempts to combine the two.
The Nauticat boat range by Siltala yachts, on the contrary, were among the few designs that managed this feat. This is possibly because Finland, with its sharply defined coastline dotted with islands, requires the best of both worlds. You need good performance under sail, and a serious engine to get out of the wind and currents.
Whether it's a sailboat, a motorboat or a fifty (part sail/part engine powered) any boat produced by Siltala yachts is constructed with serious attention to detail. Offshore sailing yachts like the Nauticat 42 are powerful, comfortable and can sail a long way. Among all the boats they ever produced, the most iconic model of all is the Nauticat 33 with its highly attractive silhouette. Its round hull, long keel and wheelhouse make it a very popular houseboat!
