Windy Shipyard was founded in 1966 in Norway by Hugo Vold. Vold's father was a talented and professional fisherman who always managed to bring his boats, systematically named Vindy, back to port. More than mere superstition, Windy boats, designed to tackle the sea in all conditions, swiftly experienced ensured success in terms of seaworthiness and safety on board.
At the height of the pleasure boating boom, the shipyard recruited the best designers, technicians and craftsmen, all driven by the Scandinavian tradition of love and respect for the sea. A passion full of humility that places quality and seakeeping at the centre of their concerns.
Windy offers two motorboat ranges:
- Sport Cruisers: sport cruisers ranging from 27 foot to 46 foot. They deliver powerful sea experiences to their passengers while also enabling them to spend a couple of comfortable nights on the water.
- Yacht Projects: shaped and designed for racing, the elegance of these speedboats underpins their performance. These are innovative boats, open to the great outdoors designed to increase sensations tenfold: an invitation to experience sailing differently.
The Windy SR 44 has been nominated as European Powerboat of the Year 2020. Norwegian shipyard Windy has kept up its momentum for over 50 years by building world-renowned and completely unique mass- and custom-produced motorboats.
