All about Cadet range
Zodiac has been building high-quality inflatable boats and RIBs since the early 1930s. Originally from the aerostation sector, Zodiac has been an expert at membrane welding and bonding techniques since then.
The company became so iconic through its products, with extraordinary achievements such as Captain Cousteau's Amphitrite or the volunteer castaway Alain Bombard's Heretic, that its name became part of our everyday vocabulary for an inflatable boat.
Out of the various Zodiac ranges, the Zodiac Cadet is designed for use as a beach boat or as a tender for sailing boats or large motorboats for cruising.
These boats feature lengths between 2.50 m and 3.50 m.
Over its many years of experience, Zodiac has developed a special fabric for constructing its tubes: Strongan Duotex. This fabric is PVC-coated with an inner membrane to ensure the heat-welded joints are fully waterproof.
Some Zodiac Cadets are also available in Hypalon, a type of neoprene, which is used for better wear resistance but which must be glued as it cannot be welded.
The Zodiac Cadet Aero has an inflatable floor. They are the lightest in the range.
Light Zodiac Cadets Zodiac Cadet Aluminiums are small RIBs and therefore have an aluminium hull bottom.
The Zodiac Cadet Deluxe has a lockable front locker to hold the outboard fuel tank whose power supply goes under the floor! This means you can go for more powerful engines without having to fiddle with the fuel tank under your feet all the time.
Cadet: find your future boats
The range of boats centralizes models with similar characteristics, both in their design and in their use. A boat builder can have a range dedicated to racing-cruising yachts and another specializing in small outboard motor boats. The ranges of boats may need to evolve to better meet the expectations of boaters. Thus, certain ranges are disappearing to make way for new generations of boats.
Choosing your boat model from the range
Buying a new or used boat requires taking stock of your expectations as a future boat owner Here are the main questions to ask:
- What is my maximum budget for buying a boat?
- Do I have a berth available?
- What is my boater profile?
