Cogolin is a small town located on the Gulf of Saint-Tropez in France's Var department. The town originally became famous for tobacco pipe making and carpet manufacture. Cogolin is also a place that comfortably embraces its status as a centre for pleasure-sailing. In fact it even plays host to a boat show held at its Marines de Cogolin marina each year. By hiring a boat in Cogolin you can explore the coastline around the Gulf of Saint-Tropez from the sea, far from the crowds of tourists on the beaches.

Set out from Marines de Cogolin marina with your newly hired boat and explore the many beaches of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Located around Saint-Tropez itself are Baie des Canebiers bay and the beaches of Plage des Salins and Pampelonne. The latter of the two, Pampelonne, is not actually in the gulf itself but instead along the eastern shore of the Saint-Tropez peninsula. There are also numerous beaches to be found between Grimaud and Sainte-Maxime, on the opposite side of the gulf. Especially worth a mention are those of Grimaud and Gabianes.
The town of Cogolin has two separate marinas. The first of these, Marines de Cogolin, is a private complex consisting of three basins which together offer a total of 600 berths. The smaller and more charming Port-Cogolin marina has 180 berths. Cogolin is home to one of the largest marina complexes on the entire Côte d'Azur.
