All about Highfield brand
Launched in 2010, the RIB builder Highfield came about as the result of a lack.
While sailing around the Atlantic with his family, Yves Brintet's inflatable dinghy began to gradually disintegrate. Having suffered delamination in Morocco and the loss of the transom in Cape Verde, the family dinghy finally gave up the ghost in the middle of the Atlantic.
When he arrived in the West Indies, Brintet bought a Caribe dinghy and went down to Venezuela to meet the brand's makers. He returned to France with a container full of these high-quality dinghies, of which he became the importer for France.
It was a success at the 2004 Nautic.
It took just a few years for Brintet to make the sideways move to boatbuilding, designing aluminium rigid-bottom tenders, light and easy to store on davits.
This was the beginning of the Highfield brand, which was instantly adopted by major French shipyards as an annex to their production.
These dinghies are 30% more rigid than fibreglass-hulled RIBs.
Highfield designs and manufactures a range of RIBs, ranging in size from 2.60m for the smallest tender to 8.60m for the largest RIB:
Rollup: light and supple tenders.
Ultralite: rigid aluminium-hull tenders that are very strong and seaworthy.
Classic: Tenders or RIBs? Halfway between the two!
Sport: perfectly equipped and comfortable RIBs, ideal for sailing.
Patrol: the 4x4 of the seas; exemplary seaworthiness and equipment on demand.
In 2019, Highfield built nearly 5,000 RIBs powered primarily by Honda through a partnership that has been in place since the brand's launch.
