All about Maxum brand

Maxum is a now defunct brand that was part of the Brunswick Group, along with other big names such as Bay Liner and Sea Ray. While the boats from these three brands were constructed with similar if not incredibly alike hulls, the differences in their layout and equipment created a certain effect of there being quite a range. At the time, Maxum boats were presented as top-of-the-range Bay Liners, but without costing as much as a Sea Ray.

While the Brunswick Group's strategy sounded the Maxum brand's death knell in 2009, the boats built over the previous 21 years nonetheless deserve some attention. They are fast speedboats and cruise ships that are well-built as well as being motorised for the most part.
In the 2000s, an internal study showed that the most common objection among newcomers to buying a boat was the fear of not knowing how to dock. Maxum's answer was to develop a system of coupled stern thrusters controlled by a joystick. This equipment, presented at the Miami Boat Show, was well ahead of its time, even if the price meant it wasn't as widely adopted as it could have been!
Maxums have stood the test of time due to how well-built they are and represent a real bargain. The 2300 SC, a 7.19-metre open launch, is typical of these elegant, practical sports boats, capable of very modern performance levels despite their age.
