All about Rio brand
Italian builder Rio Yachts, also known as RY, was founded in 1961. At the time, the company's founders, Luigi and Anna Scarani, built mahogany outboards and speedboats powered by Chris Craft and Rolls Royce engines. The company quickly made a name for itself as a builder of top-of-the-range boats. The Rolls Rio is a sleek open express cruiser and remains one of the brand's most emblematic boats of the 1970s.
The Italian brand gradually turned to thermoplastic hulls in a bid better respond to the expectations of pleasure boaters: the Rio 310, a small outboard motorboat with the look of a tender is one of the emblematic models of this period. Pleasure boating became accessible to all, providing the opportunity to enjoy sea outings with family and friends.
The Rio shipyard is a coherent structure on a human scale, passionate about navigation and life at sea, which means each of its boats benefiit from high levels of reliability and professionalism.
The company remains firmly rooted in the high-end 10m to 20m motor cruiser market, developing virtually unique models that meet all client requirements.
Espera 34, Parana 38 and Spider 40 are the shipyard's best-selling boats and have received a number of European and international awards.
Rio have developed over 138 models and produced 100,000 boats in Italy over 60 years, with Rio boats sailing all over the world.
