All about Aicon brand
Sicily and the Tyrrhenian Sea have been among the most popular sailing areas since ancient times. Didn't the sea monsters, Scylla and Charybdis, who terrified Ulysses' companions during his Odyssey, live in the Strait of Messina?
This was the chosen location for the Aicon shipyard, created in 1993, whose initial business subcontracting supply and production of top-of-the-range fittings, was geared towards luxury hotels, cruise ship cabins and large Italian motoryacht construction sites, etc. High-quality joinery and cabinetry have been part of the brand's DNA since day one. It was only logical that it would extend its activities to the construction of luxury motoryachts, in 1999...
Two years later, the Aicon 56', an elegant 17 m flying bridge boat with two 800 HP Caterpillar engines, was a resounding success. With 3 cabins, 30 knots at top speed, and a design clearly ahead of its time, the Aicon 56 was to become the brand's bestseller. With multiple awards and earning plenty of recognition, the Aicon 56 served as a springboard for the yard to continue its expansion. This was followed by the Aicom 52, and then, in 2004, the very successful Aicon 64. With a length of 21 m, 2800 HP, 30 knots at top speed, 4 double cabins and a crew cabin, it became the brand's second crowdpleaser. Taken over after the 2008 financial crisis by an executive and a financier, Aicon set up a direct sales system and continued its expansion with the Aicon 70 and 76, while an 86' is announced for 2021...
