All about Swan range
The name SWAN is used for sailing boats built by the famous Nautor shipyard. Founded in 1966 in Jakobstad, Finland, the shipyard has been owned since 1998 by Leonardo Ferragamo, one of the company's major customers. The standard Swan measures between 36 and 130 feet (10 to 45 m). The 'maxi' range, which includes units over 60 feet, are designed along the lines of superyachts. Sparkman & Stephens and the Argentinian German Frers set the specifications for the models. Sporty hulls, taut lines, uncluttered decks and increasingly luxurious fittings make them unique on the market.
Racing, which has always been a key feature of the brand's DNA, has given rise to the famous 'Club Swan', a yacht club open to all former, current and future Swan owners around the world. The club organises a series of regattas every year, including the Rolex Swan Cup in Porto-Cervo, Sardinia, where the brand new maxis, as well as the brand new ClubSwan 36 and ClubSwan 50 and the ClubSwan 42, compete against each other.
Renowned for their meticulous construction, the quality of their interior fittings (including first-rate cabinetry) and their Scandinavian interior design, Swans are not mass-produced sailing boats. Their price holds up particularly well on the second-hand market, irrespective of the model, from the bestselling Swan 38 (116 units) and Swan 46 (134 units) to one-offs with a unit value of several million euros.
