All about Mediterranee 43 Open version
Italian company Cranchi can be described as straddling the sectors of both yachting and motorboating. The brand's exceptionally luxurious speedboats have been produced in Italy for the past 150 years and showcase the finest woods, silk and plush carpets.
And that's not all. The 2005 Cranchi Mediterranee 43 Open has another jewel in its crown as the first Cranchi Open to be fitted with a Volvo IPS engine. Volvo's IPS swivel pods enable the pilot to steer this powerful, expensive toy with one hand (including sideways manoeuvres) thanks to the joystick configuration; ideal for making sure the paintwork on this beautiful 12-tonne machine stays in tip-top condition.
The engine is mounted very far aft freeing up interior space. Both cabins are more spacious than on older models, even more so than on the previous 50-footers! Twin 435hp Volvo engines complete the package, propelling the boat at close to 40 knots, giving it a range of 300 NM at 30 knots.
The interior features two large en-suite cabins, each of which could be used as the master cabin, and a fully-equipped kitchen. A calm atmosphere tops it all off.
Calm being the operative word here; the shipyard paid close attention to the positioning and soundproofing of ancillary equipment (air conditioning and generator) as well as that of the engine blocks, which are located very far aft on the hull. Not a single sound can be heard from the air conditioners or generator when at anchor.
A huge swim platform provides group access to the sea, while the huge deck saloon complete with Italian curves and the huge forward sun deck are perfect for relaxation. Forza Italia!
