Description
The sailboat Madam, a 1964 Conyplex Contest 29, is a classic with a polyester hull measuring 884 centimeters long, 251 centimeters wide, and a draft of 130 centimeters. With a headroom of 120 centimeters, this boat is both sturdy and elegant. Inside, the boat offers five permanent berths and a headroom of 1.85 meters, which makes for comfortable living aboard.
The boat is in a condition with some minor flaws. Two years ago, she was last taken out of the water for maintenance and received an antifouling treatment. Known defects include a refurbishment for the woodwork, pulpit attachment and overall cleaning.
The Contest 29 was built by Conyplex, under construction number 3 and designed by the same company. She has an s-spant hull, is steered by outside tiller and has a single rudder. The weight of the boat is 3855 kg. Accommodation on board includes a dining area, cushions, mattresses and a manual toilet whose drain discharges directly into the open water. The water tank has a capacity of 100 liters.
The boat is powered by a 1980 Petter AC2WM Mini Twin diesel engine, rated at 12 hp. This twin cylinder engine starts electrically and has a maximum speed of 10 kilometers per hour. The fuel tank has a capacity of 50 liters and consumption is around 1.5 liters per hour.
Onboard electronics and navigation equipment include two batteries, an alternator, shore power connection, a 12V system, a compass, depth gauge, autopilot, chart plotter, GPS and a VHF radio. The rigging consists of a single wooden mast with four sails in very good condition: a mainsail, genoa, storm jib and spinnaker. Additional sails are also included.
Exterior equipment includes an anchor with chain, spray hood, pulpit and stern chairs, a swim ladder, outdoor cushions, sea railing, fenders and mooring ropes. As for safety, the boat is equipped with a life buoy, self-draining cockpit, life jackets and an electric bilge pump.
