BERTRAM 42

Remarks :

The Bertram 42 (1980) is a robust, spacious, and easily manageable motor cruiser widely considered a classic in the United States. With an overall length of 47 feet, this model is also known as the Bertram 47 aft cabin. The cruiser boasts of completely unobstructed, walk-around decks complemented by steel handrails and an enclosed aft deck seating area.

 She is powered by Detroit Diesel Model 671 each rated at 425 horsepower. These engines were rebuilt in 2002 and have approximately 350 hours of use since. In addition, an 8kWh Onan Diesel generator, providing 220v at 60Hz, ensures adequate power supply onboard.

The current owners are reluctantly putting her on the market as plans have changed. They purchased it a year ago, and have used it lightly, mostly residing onboard as if it were a spacious apartment  and office space- an experience for which she is ideally suited due to its generous accommodation space.

Presently, the Bertram 42 is moored at her marina berth in Preveza, Greece, awaiting her next adventure with a new owner.

 

OWNERS REMARKS:

We bought the boat to serve primarily as an inexpensive floating holiday cottage in Greece, rather than as a cruising boat. 

We use her for short outings in the area. Two engines mean some redundancy, the gearboxes, steering and the electric anchor windlass are all fine.

• Raymarine Axion navigation equipment and digital chart for the Mediterranean.
