Description
Catamaran Lady't Bee: an economical trawler
The modification of the fly-bridge area and the extension of the roof have enabled the installation of 13 well exposed solar panels over a surface area of 22 m². The array has a total output of 3.9 kW. It is programmed to serve both essential and comfort equipment.
The generator has thus become superfluous.
The boat benefits ecologically and autonomously from all the comfort options that have been added to the standard version: water maker, hot water on demand, induction hobs for the kitchen, washing machine, coffee machines, plancha; Without noise, without energy other than the sun, without additional expenses.
The 2 inverters, each with a capacity of 3 kW, provide optimum power.
The battery pack takes over at nightfall, in a completely transparent way.
When sailing, the engine alternators provide extra power, and day and night sailing is worry-free. Equipment has been doubled to avoid any unforeseen event: dual cartography, complete dual autopilots, spare-parts
The propellers have folding blades, enabling the use of a single engine during navigation. The pitch of the propellers has been calculated to allow speed adaptation (maximum 12 knots with these propellers, could be more) without affecting engine speed.
Over 7 years of use and 18,000 miles, the owners have carefully calculated their fuel consumption. At an average cruising speed of 7 to 8 knots, they consumed 0.7 liters per mile.
Fuel tank capacity has been increased to 1900 liters.
This catamaran is an alternative to a sailboat; it allows a life of travel with all the comforts on board, in a more economical, less physical way, while taking care of the ecological aspect.
