Description

For sale, magnificent 10m Sloop from 1965, designed by Eugène Cornu and built by Pichavant shipyards in riveted copper mahogany wood. With a length of 10 meters, a width of 2.71m, and a draft of 1.60m, this sloop is located in Brittany and is ready to go back to sea immediately! Very close in design to the Classe III 10.30m plan, with 15 units produced, including 5 by Pichavant, this is a unique custom model benefiting from the shipyard's years of experience in building Cornu designs. PENN-KARN has been owned by its current owner for 15 years and has been winterized and maintained every year by the Kerniguel shipyard in Quimper. The boat's structure is in excellent condition, the keel bolts were replaced in 2008, and the hull was sandblasted and repainted in 2019. The boat is in excellent condition and has undergone careful and continuous restoration by its owner, who has invested over €65,000 in various restoration and improvement works on this Cornu design. This boat carries a rich history, having delighted several generations of owners. It is eligible for the Bateau d'intérêt Patrimonial (BIP) label, making it an exceptional sailboat that will allow its future owner to fully enjoy sailing while also contributing to the promotion of French maritime culture and tradition. This label also facilitates obtaining mooring spots in certain municipalities, as well as subsidies from local authorities for maintenance and restoration. Finally, this boat is a perfect fit for participating in gatherings of vintage ships such as the Fête du golfe, the Fêtes maritimes de Brest, Douarnenez, La Rochelle, and the Armada of Rouen. The owner's primary goal is for the boat to continue sailing and to pass on this design as a living testament to Eugene Cornu's naval work. The boat is equipped with a 2012 Lombardini LDW 1003 M 30hp engine, with a fixed three-blade propeller, a total of 25-liter diesel fuel tank, and two 2018 Delphi pro 12V 72Ah batteries, along with shore charger, charge distributor, and 220V circuit. The teak deck is in excellent condition, and the hull is mahogany planked on acacia frames. The keel bolts were replaced with stainless steel bolts in 2008, and all varnishes are in very good condition. The spruce wooden spars are varnished, and the bronze winches, along with the original fittings, are in very good condition. Regarding sails, the boat is equipped with a 2015 Dacron mainsail in very good condition, a 2014 Dacron genoa on a furler, an asymmetrical spinnaker, as well as another older mainsail and genoa. The interior equipment includes a double cabin at the bow, 2 single berths in the saloon, a 2-burner galley, a foldable central berth in the saloon, and a toilet cabin with marine toilet. In terms of electronics, the boat is equipped with a Raymarine ST50 central unit with log, speedometer, depth sounder, and anemometer, as well as a chart plotter GPS, VHF, and Raymarine autopilot. The boat has a 2020 6-person liferaft, a manual windlass, anchor gear, and two pumps (manual and automatic) for bilge drainage.
