The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 379 needs little introduction - a mainstay of Jeanneau's hugely successful recent range, the model has enjoyed a prolific build period and has been rightfully praised for its performance orientated characteristics, sharp looks and comfortable layout options.

"TAI TAI" was launched November 2012 but is a 2013 model, supplied new by Sea Ventures to her current owner, a highly experienced yacht owner who has maintained and cared for her meticulously. She has just been polished, anti-fouled and re-commissioned for this season, so she's truly "ready to sail".

Additional Information

• The engine has been fully serviced each year, including coolant and saildrive servicing, as necessary. The water pump and drive belts were replaced last year. The Yanmar Warranty Handbook provides further details and engine hours, currently 657.6.

• Each year the Ultra 300 hard antifoul is sanded back and over-coated with two coats. Similarly, each year the saildrive is cleaned and re-sprayed, the Flexifold prop is cleaned and greased and the anodes replaced, the topsides gelcoat is compound cleaned and re-waxed, chrome polished, winches and decware serviced and all running lines and covers cleaned. All of this was again undertaken between 8th and 21st April this year.

• After a lifetime of racing, I bought the 379 being the ideal sized performance cruising boat for short-handed sailing by my wife and me. Since 2013, we’ve cruised the Channel Isles, northern France and the West Country, plus many happy hours around the Solent. It’s no slouch and up on its chine it’s perfectly balanced and almost hands-free! With a deep fin keel and single rudder it’s very manoeuvrable and well behaved, even in heavy seas. The accommodation comfortably sleeps six and the very quiet Yanmar engine is more than man-enough when needed. Alas, our advancing years, plus young grandchildren, a switch to a motor boat is now timely.
